2. I had two years of a foreign language in high school. Can I still be considered for admission as a transfer student?
Foreign language is considered a graduation requirement for transfer students. If you did not complete three years in a single foreign language in high school, you will be able to complete the University language requirement with college-level courses in a foreign language. Transfer students who have completed three years of a foreign language in high school are advised that any transfer credit received for elementary level courses in the same language will not be applied to degree or credit requirements at UConn. For more information on University credit restrictions, please see the General Catalog.

3. Will my grade point average from my previous institution transfer in addition to my courses?
Grades from other institutions do not transfer. The grade point average of transfer students is computed only on the course work taken at UConn.

4. I don't want credit for courses I completed at a university I attended before applying to UConn. Must I submit the transcript?
Complete official transcripts of all work taken at other institutions must be submitted as part of the application process whether or not credit for such work is desired or expected. Students who fail to acknowledge attendance at any college or university in which they have been enrolled automatically waive the right to have that work considered for transfer credit. They may also be subject to denial of admission, loss of course credit, and/or suspension from the University.

5. When will I receive my transfer credit evaluation?
Once the new transfer student has accepted our offer of admission and confirmed intention to enroll, transfer credit evaluations are prepared and available before Orientation and Registration sessions. The credit evaluation will indicate the way in which your courses are transferring; your UConn school/college will let you know how your courses apply to degree requirements at the University.
